— Behold The Body There are few things in the world, if any, more beautiful than the female body. Getting to photograph and frame its beauty is something that fills my cup 10x over. Beyond just the physical form though, there is something so special about the unique energy every single woman brings to her […]
Hey everybody! What wild months these have been for all of us. I spent most of my hunkered down months working on editing projects and tending to administrative stuff for the biz. On a personal level, I’ve been fortunate to have a wonderful roommate to weather the storm. As winter turned to spring, one of […]
Niki and Chepo’s best man couldn’t have said it better when he described their celebration as the biggest wedding “since Prince Harry’s royal wedding.” This downtown Anchorage wedding video is one for the ages with 500 guests, a mariachi band, and a sixteen foot floral chandelier. — — It’s no surprise this couple has such […]
— It’s sessions like this that both soothe and fuel me. It’s one thing to just take photos for someone. But it’s another entirely to be wholeheartedly trusted for your creativity. Ellie was so incredible to work with in that way. From our first meeting, she was both an open mind to my ideas and […]
— If you asked me, I would say I never take on births anymore. But sometimes, the timing works out perfectly and I can’t say no. Truth is, I wish I could say yes to births all the time! The magic of the moment when a human enters the earth is a special kind of […]
Olivia & Scott had two wedding celebrations. The first was spent with family and the second was the most epic adventure in Alaska. Alpha Aviation took these guys (and me!) on the tour of a lifetime that showcased Alaska and all her beauty, from the mountaintops to the glacial streams. Olivia & Scott are bright, energetic, and funny as hell and I hope you enjoy their epic elopement as much as I did!
Danielle & Ben met on a remote job site in Alaska studying birds for the summer. Their first months were spent amidst swamps and mosquito nets talking about bugs and baby birds. When I asked them to tell me the story of how they first met, it was clear how their love of feathered creatures permeated much of the way they interacted.
Christine & Austin are two people who know how to get down and I appreciate that about them. You can see their playful energy come through in their portraits, in the way they dance and interact with their friends. Their lively wedding at Crow Creek Mine came on a rainy day in Girdwood, as the days in Girdwood often are. But under the safe covering of a clear tent, their parade was undampened.
There’s a certain serenity in the small seaside town at the end of the road. Seward has always held my heart and just might be my favorite place in all of Alaska. I was beyond excited that Melissa & Chris had me down to photograph their wedding there last summer. They even had me come early to photograph family photos on the beach and their quaint backyard party the day before.
Of all it brings to the table, one of the most beautiful parts about my job is the opportunity it affords me to witness and celebrate love on a regular basis. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the what a privilege it is to be truly known and loved by someone. It doesn’t come around everyday and when it does, it takes a while for the roots to grow.
