Anchorage Headshot Photographer
This season, I’ve had the opportunity to shoot more headshot sessions for local entrepreneurs and artists. It’s easy to picture of a standard studio photo when you think of a headshot session. But I really loved the opportunity I was afforded to think outside the box for this shoot!
Tattoo Artist Elizabeth Lent
Elizabeth is a local tattoo artist working on her apprenticeship at Ultra Violence Tattoo. When we set out to plan her session, she shared about the importance of nature as a foundational inspiration for her work. That in mind, we took to the woods along the Chester Creek Trail to capture Elizabeth in her element. Even more than her surroundings, we also played with incorporating tangible pieces of nature on E’s body – from holding branches and flowers to her face to Elizabeth letting me cover her in nature pickings for our final shot. I’m so in love with what we were able to capture. I hope y’all enjoy and be sure to check out Elizabeth’s amazing work (especially her beautifully surreal mushroom women!) here.
Openness & Trust
Working with fellow artists, like Elizabeth, is always such a treat. Artists know how to open themselves up to another artist’s creativity. They’re game for experimentation and they trust the process. Honestly, if you’re entering into any endeavor with a professional creative that openness is the best thing you can bring to the table. The end result will always be the better for it.
