AMONG THE BIRDS

Danielle & Ben met on a remote job site in Alaska studying birds for the summer. Their first months were spent amidst swamps and mosquito nets talking about bugs and baby birds. When I asked them to tell me the story of how they first met, it was clear how their love of feathered creatures permeated much of the way they interacted. He talked of noticing her cool style and how impressed he was listening to her show off her bird calls. It just made me think about what a truly special thing it is to find someone you love who is also in love with the way you spend your days. Their world of birds is so vastly different from mine and I savor every chance I get to listen to them talk about it.

Anyone who opts for a winter outdoor session is gutsy, but Danielle & Ben have my utmost respect for braving the freezing cold and biting wind for their chilly engagement session at Beluga Point. Hats off to these two! I had a blast with them and can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Arctic Valley this summer!

Lately there’s been great conversation surrounding how to support small businesses as we all try to keep building our economy during uncertain times. Many of the small businesses you love may be adapting the way they do business that still allows you to buy from them in a modified way. If you can continue to support them financially, get out there and do it! If that doesn’t suit you at the moment, another huge help to any small business is an online review. Seriously, you have no idea how far these go. If you can lend a few minutes go and give your fav small businesses some love online! If we’ve ever worked together and you’d like to leave a review, you can do so here!

As I won’t be shooting these next few weeks, I’ve chosen to adapt my offerings by launching a sale on prints and products in your online galleries. Now through March 31st all order of $35 or more are 25% using the code “LITTLEJOYS” at checkout. Clients as far back as 2013, your galleries are active and available for purchase. Follow the gallery link in the email you received and peruse everything that’s available. You can ever upload your own photos under the “My Photos” tab and print those with your order. All products are eligible for the sale and I HIGHLY encourage jumping on this as I only offer this kind of sale 1-2 times a year.

Thank you for all the love and support! Wishing you and yours safety, peace, and rest!
