There’s something so lovely about a bright yellow fall. It’s like living in a coloring book where a 5 year old has picked all the shades just because they are the most fun. I like the yellow that comes out in the fall and I liked getting to shoot in it with these two honeys.

Kendall and Sean are edgy like a razor and soft like a Georgia peach. On the outside they’re sharp, quick-witted, and wonderfully nuanced in their taste. On the inside they’ve got the souls of two 70 year olds who’ve been together for 50+ years: hearts full of warmth, generosity, and hospitality.

We spent a colorful autumn afternoon together around their home making photos in this retro-inspired engagement shoot (with a slight nod to Suzy Bishop’s yellow getup in Moonrise Kingdom and that one scene with the masks in Breakfast at Tiffany’s). Feast your eyes on all those colors and enjoy the beauty of their smilin’ faces!

Come back tomorrow to see Part II of Kendall and Sean’s session out on Turnagain Arm. It’s full of beautiful blues, rich oranges, and lots of happiness. You don’t wanna miss it!

With love,
