A Rainy Elopement In Whittier – Alaska Wedding Videographer

Jun 22

With a colorful history and certain quirks that still characterize daily life, Whittier is the kind of place you just don’t forget. From its one-way-at-a-time tunnel to its just over 200 residents, it’s a quiet little town with charming mystique. At the time, Brienne described it as her soon to be hubby’s, “kind of place, with [his] kind of people.” As we came through the tunnel on their wedding day, we were greeted by the all too familiar haze that one would expect. The rain fell softly on the sea and the clouds cloaked the mountains in the most magical way.

Brienne & Jason

Brienne & Jason made the adventurous trek to Alaska so they could elope. On their wedding day, they embraced everything Whittier had to offer, even down to a (barely) alive salmon pulled from a nearby stream. I’m so grateful to these two for their kindness and the way they shared their joy with me on their wedding day. I loved telling their story through film and I’m excited to share it with you today! After you’re done watching their wedding video above, check out the behind the scenes montage below to see Tyler (my right hand for the day) pull a fish straight from the stream. Sure to give you a good laugh. 😂

Three cheers to the wonderful team who helped this wedding to life! Be sure to hop over to Kristian Irey’s blog to see her gorgeous photos from this wedding!
