Last night we pulled off one of the best surprise birthday parties. EVER.
For mama, she turned 52 on Tuesday (mhmm, check out that sign: 52, Flirty, & Thriving). But, not only was it a birthday party, even more importantly, it was a ‘Cancer Free For 3 Years’ celebration.
A celebration of life, in every sense.
Of all the life we’ve been able to spend with her since her successful operation 3 years ago.
Of everything she’s been able to be a part of since the Lord, by many a skilled doctor’s hands and innumerable kind and caring hearts, healed her.
And as I sat last night and watched her face explode with laughter as she realized we were NOT going out to dinner, BUT, throwing one of the most epic bashes of 2013 in her honor. And as I watched her open her presents long after everyone was gone- shiny & sparkling pink crown around her head- I have never been more grateful for her as my mother and for the all life we’ve been given with her.
This is Mama Roberts, & she is an incredible woman.
And this us celebrating her and all that she is.
Holy Toledo! you guys do things with a bang!
I am surprised also. What a wonderful thing to surprise someone. Love all the termology–flirty etc. She deserves all the attention. So nice of you to plan it.
Love the pic of mom and dad.
