Then there were Holly and Coleman.
Who sent me their story this past Day of the Lovers, that read a little something like this:
Our story starts out with a happy go lucky guy and a jaded, grumpy girl the summer of 2010. We happened to be in the same place at the same time and the moment we saw each other, both our worlds turned upside down. We instantly started dating and the jaded grumpy girl became less abrasive and a little sweeter and the happy go lucky guy just got happier. We lived in two different towns so we flew back and forth each weekend to see each other. By fall, the now sweeter girl was ready to move. The happy guy continued to be amazing in every way, fostering the once grumpy-pants girl into a loving and happy person. He helped her finish her degree, supporting and encouraging her 100% of the way. The girl helped the guy get through the toughest engineering test he’ll ever take too. Eventually, dude and chick found out they were going to have a mini cranky-happy person and both of their hearts EXPLODED with love. Dude and chick now spend all of their time laughing and playing with the little gremlin they made.
The love we’ve walked has been a hard path. The fish tank we owned nearly killed us all in 2012…. and we’ve learned that both of us feel like we do all work and that were under appreciated for doing it all – but we’ve learned it’s okay to feel like that and that we love each other anyways. We also learned that boys say really stupid stuff they don’t me a and girls are self conscious when they don’t need to be. And also that the word “love” can also mean “kick you in the teeth” depending the context.
It’s love, it’s easy, it’s hard, and sometimes it’s nearly impossible, but we’ve got it.
And this, the infamous fish tank.
They are lovers of the land and the sea and everything that roams on it. And in May, they’re getting hitched. With an octopus cake. Officially some of the raddest people I’ve ever met in my inbox. Thanks to Bloomsbury Blooms and Celestial Sweets Boutique for contributing delicious and beautiful things to this giveaway (those flowers you saw were a product of Ms.Dallas Bloomsbury Blooms herself).
Dang, I love house sessions.
You, where you are in the reality and intimacy of the space you spend your days.
Call me and let’s do one.
